Scentuelle - The “Happy Patch”

February 15th, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I’ve been overwhelmed with the response that I’m receiving after Scentuelle was featured on The Rachael Ray Show. The patch continues to receive rave reviews.

As a Valentine’s Day special news item, the following article and video is an interview with two women who have success stories in using the Scentuelle patch.

Patch Promises to Heighten Women’s Sexual Desire
VIRGINIA BEACH  - Reported by: Vanessa Coria
If you’ve got the blues and aren’t feeling the love this Valentine’s Day, a new product may help heat things up.

Experts say a third of women at any given time suffer from a loss of libido and many others from stress and depression. Aromatherapy is thought to help. It’s nothing new. From candles, essential oils to special diffusers, it’s been around for thousands of years. It’s first recorded use by the ancient Egyptians.

What is new is Scentuelle, called the passion patch or happy patch.  It was developed in the United Kingdom.  It uses our sense of smell to help light the fire.

“I know about aromatherapy, but I didn’t know how it would play out in relation to libido, so I’m curious to see over time how that will work-out,” says Mary Keller, a mother of two, who’s been married for 20 years.

The patch’s makers say the effect is cumulative, building to an optimum level after there or four weeks.

The non-transdermal patch goes on the inside of your wrist each morning and you give it a sniff every hour. Its scent molecules target the mood centers of the brain, mimicking dopamine, the body’s “feel good” hormone.

Keller, who is 50 years old, hopes it works.
“I think as women approach menopause and go through that, that kind of dies down a little bit.

This might be a good way to revive it without it being invasive to the body.
Bonnie Rose, a naturopathic doctor and aromatherapist, says she was skeptical of the patch’s claims. But then she tried it and changed her opinion.

“It did initiate feelings of desire,” she admits, “so being such a skeptic, I’m impressed.”

If you want to test it, a 30-day supply will cost about $35.00.  It’s available over the counter at some drug stores.

Letting Go to Sexy Feelings

February 6th, 2008

Over the past three weeks, since Scentuelle was featured on the Rachael Ray Show, I have received numerous emails and phone calls. Today, I want to share one of those emails with you from Jane J. from Iowa.

Jane writes, “You have no idea how much I want this to work….I just wish there was a magic pill to make me feel sexy again.  It’s like everything inside of me has died and I don’t know how to revive it.  I just can’t seem to talk myself into any kind of sexy mood.  Whenever my husband touches me, because of the hormones, I break out into a total sweat and am soaking wet - not conducive to feeling sexy at all…..I have tried so many natural hormonal helps for the last 3 years with no success….I know there are no magic bullets….but I want to keep the hope that the patches will help me find the sexy me again…..

When I smell the patch it does seem to work and help my mood (when I say my mood - I should say my depression - not feeling sexy).

I always thought if I was thin enough that would do it - and I’m thin and a six 4-6 so it’s not the way I look - it’s the way I feel inside - just as your note for Day 5 was talking about…..I have plenty of sexy nightgowns, but I just can’t bring myself to letting go and having sex…..I am beginning to feel like a frigid freak……the only sex I have is in my imagination….and that’s not all that much fun.

I just wondered if you ever dealt with other women who like me feel like we lost ourselves in this big black hole and have no idea how to climb out. (I’m 58 years old - no periods since 53)

And my other question - when you say sniff - do you mean just once - or a couple of times - and for how long do I sniff - a long lingering sniff - or several short ones - or just one?

Any suggestions would be so helpful.  Thanks so much…..I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and any comments would be so appreciated. Thank you, Jane.”

Jane is definitely not alone!

When I read her email I thought, “This could have been me!” I know exactly what Jane was talking about … especially the breaking into a sweat when touched by her husband.

Before using Scentuelle I had terrible night sweats and pretty much the same feelings as she described. The lack of sexual desire and the letting go to having sex is a huge issue among women. On the one hand you want it but on the other (and usually stronger side) you really can’t be bothered.

I used Scentuelle for almost 4 weeks before I felt sexual feelings ‘kick in’. Like Jane, my overall mood was the first to change. I felt lighter and definitely happier.

As far as using the patch correctly, I suggested that she take 4-5 deep, long breaths filling her nostrils completely so the only thing the brain ’smells’ are the aromas. The effect is cumulative so the the more you sniff the greater the benefits.

I am hearing amazing results from women who combine Scentuelle with the 30 Days to a Sexier You! program.

I love to receive your comments and suggestions. Please feel free to contact me anytime!

Secrets of a Sensual Woman - Part 4

January 31st, 2008

I don’t know of a topic more discussed between women than dieting and the desire to loose weight. I’ve been trying to loose my extra 10 pounds for the last 10 years!

Our question today is one that will hit home for millions of women, who are ‘battling the bulge.’

Q: “I’ve gained weight, and I don’t feel sexy anymore.  I want to be close to my husband, but I’m not feeling comfortable in my body. My confidence in myself as a sexual being is really diminished.”

A: Whether a woman’s weight issues are due to a hormonal imbalance, lack of exercise or extra weight after pregnancy … feeling overweight and un-sexy is often the result.

Aside from eating a healthy diet, drinking lots of water and getting plenty of exercise, everyone should consult with their doctor to rule out possible medical causes.

But from one woman to another, I’d like to address several other things that I think will help.

Try these and see how you feel:
- Love yourself through it.  Believe you’re worth it.
- Be gentle with yourself. Like you’d be with others.
- Don’t deprive yourself.  Have fun.  Laugh.
- Don’t keep it to yourself  — have strong social support.
- And remember, you have a body, but you are NOT just your body.
You’re so much more!
- Pamper yourself with a new outfit, a manicure, pedicure, new hair style or even a trip.
- Know that you deserve the understanding of your husband or partner.
- Focus on what you DO want; not what you don’t want.  See yourself as thin … see it already done.  Do not complain about how you don’t want the weight.

And SEE yourself as already thin!

Remember that sex can be a great physical workout.  And it releases endorphins and dopamine, which also make you feel good!

Get to know yourself and all your senses.  Become the Sensual Woman you were born to be.

Scentuelle Featured on the Rachael Ray Show

January 16th, 2008

Although we haven’t made it to Oprah yet, Scentuelle did make the Rachael Ray Show! The episode was aired Tuesday, Jan 15th.

Here’s a preview from Rachael’s website:

In the latest (and raciest!) human lab experiment, three women who would like to increase their sex drive put three different products to the test to see if a few “libido-increasing” products will put some spark back into the bedroom!

Mary Ann, who tried the Scentuelle Patch says, “What really impressed me was the smell and the way it moved my senses and the way it made me feel. I was happier, calmer — I noticed that right away. The smell just really trigged an immediate sense of happiness and peace for me.”

Secrets of the Sensual Woman - Part 3

January 12th, 2008

There are thousands of post-menopausal women that can relate to this question!  So, let’s take a look and see how to rediscover our Sensual Woman

Q: Ole Minne paused here and she’s changed me forever!  (Menopause)  I used to be quite the amorous one, but now I just can’t find the ‘on switch’ anymore.

A: It’s more than a little difficult to feel erotic, with night sweats, insomnia, mood swings, vaginal dryness and fatigue, isn’t it?

HRT can often calm down the night sweats and mood swings, but doesn’t seem to increase libido.

A 2006 study in the journal, Menopause, found that nearly a third of partnered women between 50 and 70 have little or no sex drive, and many have trouble feeling aroused.

So, what’s the answer?  For some women, using testosterone cream has been successful, but not for all.  And, some have even been treated with Viagra, with some success. But, until and if, a ‘Pink Viagra’ is invented, we must find a way to live with Minne and all her evil sisters.

And if you have a partner there’s a double challenge.  You want to be considerate of his needs, as well as your own, right? I feel that with love and commitment on both sides, couples can become very creative at designing intimate times.

Here are some things you and your partner can do:
1. Accept that less uncontrolled, hormonal-driven desire will overtake you and cause you to devour your man.
2. Communicate your fears, misgivings and need to be understood.
Let him know you still love him.
3. Make intimate play dates.  Be open and creative with different things to do.  Explore.
4. Now, more than ever, your lover will need to take time to awaken your senses.
5. Understand that, without hormones running wild, your ability to be sexually-aroused will totally depend on your sensuality, coupled with your love for him.

I think you’ll enjoy this October, 2007 article in AARP Magazine, titled, “Whither Desire?”

Secrets of the Sensual Woman - Part 2

January 10th, 2008

Here’s another question that I bet thousands of you can relate to.  So, let’s take a look and see if we can find some tips on how to live your life as a Sensual Woman

Q: “It’s hard to get in the mood, after being a business woman at work, a mother before 8 and after 5 — and a cleaning woman until 9pm.  Then, I’m supposed to hurry up and be a sex kitten, too?  Help!”

A: If you recall in my last blog post, I suggested a luxurious bubble bath, with your partner washing your back, soothing music … and don’t forget the aroma candles.  (There are many variables on the bubble bath theme!)

So, after your bath, incorporate another sense … your sense of touch.

Studies show that massage can be a great stress reliever.  In fact, touch is very important for our overall emotional health.  I think women need non-sexual touching much more than men do. So, honor that and let your man know.

Here’s what you can do:
Create the mood, with candles, music and incense.
Lay on the floor, couch or bed
Using wonderful-smelling massage oils or lotions, allow your partner to pamper you like a baby.  This will connect with your emotional center, making you feel appreciated, loved and adored.
Now, as if by magic, you’ll feel invigorated and your partner will be richly rewarded, as you “purr like a kitten.” (Watch out for those claws, though!)

Awakening your sense of touch is another … Secret of the Sensual Woman

In Closing …

To further augment your sense of touch, always pamper yourself.  And a good way to do that is with the Scentuelle Patch. It’ll give you that ‘feel good feeling’ throughout your day, as you take a sniff every hour.

And, if you think your partner would enjoy an ‘enhanced’ libido, too, why not try the His n’ Her Pack?

Secrets of the Sensual Woman - Part 1

January 8th, 2008

To start off the New Year I will be writing a 4 part series to help you re-awaken the sensual woman in you.

Today, let’s look at a problem that affects millions of women everywhere.

Q: “I’m on an antidepressant, and it’s really depleted my sex drive. I wish I could find a way to feel ’sexy’ again.”

A: Healthy brain chemistry is a balancing act, according to many medical experts, like Ron Rosenberg, MD, an OB-GYN and psychiatrist at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI.

It’s a balance between the neurotransmitters serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain.

“Antidepressants, especially the SSRIs, only increase serotonin,” explains Dr. Rosenberg. “The lack of increase in dopamine, a chemical in the brain’s pleasure center that we believe is required for maintaining sexual interest, affects satisfactory sexual function.”

This is a very tricky area, which only your doctor and/or psychiatrist can advise you, but there is something simple and non-medical that may help.

As you see, dopamine is a chemical in the brain’s pleasure center, and which, apparently, isn’t even addressed with antidepressants.

So we’ve developed the Scentuelle Patch, infused with scent molecules that mimic the effects of dopamine … the ‘feel good’ chemical.  (For more info visit:

Awakening your sense of smell is another Secret of the Sensual Woman.

You simply wear a little patch on your wrist and take a whiff every hour, throughout your day.  (You’ll wear a new patch everyday.)

It’s aromatherapy at its finest.  Safe, non-prescription.  And it does not get into your bloodstream … it just makes you feel good!

Listen to this quick news report, as one reporter tells her experience with Scentuelle and how Scentuelle made her feel.  http://scentuellepatch.com/multimedia.asp

Aromatherapy Patch for Lovers

December 18th, 2007

Our sense of smell is tied directly to the part of the brain that is linked to memory and emotion. Research studies have proven that different scents can actually produce different emotions and reactions; they can make us feel a certain way.

Aromatherapy has been used for over 5000 years and has been used in sexual practices and rituals. Scent has been used to attract lovers; it’s been used in the art of seduction and mentioned in the Kama Sutra. Cleopatra was known to have used a special blend of rose, cardamom, and cinnamon to seduce Marc Anthony; basil was used by young Italian women to charm and bewitch potential lovers; ancient Arabic manuals giving advice on sexual matters refer to Black Pepper for its erotic qualities; ginger was used by the Romans for its sexual enhancement properties, and Tantric disciples smeared Sandalwood on their bodies while celebrating sexual ecstasy.

We’re still using aromatherapy practices today – fortunately there are easier and less ‘messy’ ways to enjoy the benefits.

Scentuelle is a cutting-edge aromatherapy skin patch that is specifically designed to use your sense of smell to enhance your sexual response. It works naturally without any side effects to increase your sex drive and help re- kindle a sensual, intimate connection with your partner.

Laughing Through the Mid-life Crisis

December 14th, 2007

I came across this article and thought it would add a bright spot in the lives of the over 40’s!

Mid-life is when…

I’ve seen two shows lately that went on and on about how mid-life is a great time for women. Just last week Oprah had a whole show on how great menopause will be . . . Puhleeeeeeeze! I’ve had a few thoughts of my own and would like to share them with you. Whether you are pushing 40, 50, 60 (or maybe even just pushing your luck), you’ll probably relate.

  • Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down. This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired mustache.
  • In mid-life women no longer have upper arms, we have wing spans. We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts, we are flying squirrels in drag.
  • Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and you can see your rear without turning around.
  • Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless.
  • Mid-life is when you want to grab every firm young lovely in a tube top and scream, “Listen honey, even the Roman empire fell and those will too.”
  • Mid-life brings wisdom to know that life throws us curves and we’re sitting on our biggest ones.
  • Mid-life is when you look at your know-it-all, beeper-wearing teenager and think: “For this I have stretch marks?”
  • In mid-life your memory starts to go. In fact the only thing we can retain is water.
  • Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By Rand McNally — more red and blue lines than an accurately scaled map of Wisconsin.
  • Mid-life means that you become more reflective . . You start pondering the “big” questions. What is life? Why am I here? How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before it’s no longer a healthy choice?

But mid-life also brings with it an appreciation for what is important. We realize that breasts sag, hips expand and chins double, but our loved ones make the journey worthwhile.

Would any of you trade the knowledge that you have now, for the body you had way back when? Maybe our bodies simply have to expand to hold all the wisdom and love we’ve acquired. That’s my philosophy and I’m sticking to it!
